Bamboo ‘People’ Chime (kinetic sculpture)

I hereby propose to build a large bamboo chime (approx.. 10 ft. tall and approx. 8 ft. long). It would ‘chime’ when visitors
to the garden reach up and gently move the vertical hanging poles of bamboo, making them hit each together. Bamboo poles,
being hollow, make a lovely sound when one pole hits another.

So, this outdoor kinetic sculpture would provide us with the beauty of the bamboo (a sustainable material), a ‘new’ way
in which gardeners and garden visitors can interact with the garden’s environment, and the sound of the bamboo.
Heavy winds would also cause the bamboo to ‘bong.’

This idea invites gardeners and visitors alike to participate.
